Kane came to us from
Rising Sun Farms in Stacy MN. I still call Becky often to tell her
how "blessed" I feel that she let this man go so I could
have the pleasure to trial him. Shortly after he arrived we enjoyed
trialing him at the USBCHA novice level and won our class! Then
Kane & I stepped out on the "HSBs" course (AKC) and
walked away with a perfect score with our outrun & lift both
days and a 1st place on Sunday (giving him Reserve High in Trial).
He is nothing short of a joy to train and trial. He has the patience
to work my ducks, yet the presence and power to work cattle (heading
and heeling when needed).
Since then his trial
career has really taken off. He earned his ASCA WTCH in one short
season of trials (beginning in mid April and finished the WTCH early
Sept), with many High in Trial Other Breeds along the way.
He earned his AKC Advanced
"A" course titles both sheep and ducks with all placements,
and even took some heavy duty 1 st majors away from those hunting
them. He since has been trialed VERY lightly as an advanced titled
AKC dog and is well over half way to his AKC herding Championship
with both his majors and both his 1st placements. He also has earned
a very VERY nice High in Trial from the Advanced course.
We also have no problem
running in the USBCHA trials as well. He has earned 4 National Finals
points on cattle in just one trial (a huge first place over 21 dogs!)
We also try our hand at Points + time trials on sheep as well.
As a proven producer
of numerous titled offspring (in both herding & agiility). He
has offspring that are MACH agility dogs, AKC advanced titled herding
dogs, many have High in Trials and others have placements at the
national level in agility. I have also been informed he has a daughter
that is currently certified as a SAR dog as well. Not to mention
he is beginning to have grandchildren out doing things and others
that are showing tremendous potential. I am very excited what his
man can add to our gene pool here at Plum Ridge.
Watch for exciting updates
on his boy both as a stud and on the trial field.
